About the Convention

The Discworld Convention is a gathering of fans of Sir Terry Pratchett and his Discworld. It usually happens in the UK once every two years. This is an event organised by fans, for fans. If the event makes any profit, it is donated to our nominated charities - usually the Orangutan Foundation and another local charity.

In 2022 the Convention will happen between the 19th and 22nd of August at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Birmingham, UK. The theme is the book 'Lord & Ladies'. Think witches, wizards, elves, morris dancers and irate cats.

You get to spend four days in the company of people who are just as crazy about Discworld as you are. How fabulous is that?

How to take part

First, you will need to purchase a membership (or more than one) when they become available. If you can't pay the full price right now, there's an option to purchase a supporting membership which you can then upgrade at a later date.

That done, you'll also need to book your accommodation, again when that option becomes available. Then you'll be done with all the boring stuff, barring how you get here, which is your responsibility!

After that, all you need to do is turn up on Friday 19th August 2022 and let the good times begin. In the meantime you can think about what costumes you want to make and wear (or not), which of our lovely guests you'll want to talk to, and save up for those exciting looking drinks with umbrellas in them.

If you've never been to the Discworld Convention before, take a look at our handy guide for newbies - this should help you learn more about what to expect.

We need your help

As we've said before, the Discworld Convention is run for fans, by fans. We are all volunteers giving up our spare time (and often magicing up some more out of thin air) to make this amazing event happen. If you think you can help, we would love to hear from you!
